Ildebrando d'Arcangelo sings Vivaldi: Bajazet -Dov'e la figlia?
I'm an early music fanatic, so I have to add this clip. Watch his reaction after he nails the high note. He looks like a footballer who just scored a goal.
Yeah, he nailed that note. but after how many tries? No wonder he looks triumphan--I finally got it right. There are six different splices on this video, three different outfits recurring in various scenes. Yeah he can sing, but obviously he had one helluva time getting this one right.
Not so hot in current ROH production - voice was quite subdued, just seemed to be going through the motions. Also, he needs to work out - looking pretty porky. Simon Keenleyside in better voice and physical nick and ten years older!
