The Polish baritone Mariusz Kwiecien [pronounced MAH-RYOOSH KVYEH-TCHEN] has been quoted as being surprised that he's considered a barihunk. Either he's really humble or someone needs to put a mirror in his dressing room. I saw him sing Don Giovanni and couldn't wait to attend the next performance. He brings a raw sexuality to the role that's never been matched. He has sung Don Giovanni in San Francisco, Vienna, Houston, Bilbao, Seattle, Sante Fe, Japan and in his native Warsaw. The rakish Don Giovanni has quickly become his signature role.
Nickname: Mariusz Kielbasa (if you don't get it, check out the picture of him in the white pants!)

And check out Kwiechen in the Paris production of Szymanowski's Krol Roger, where he does half the opera in boxer shorts. For example, here: http://www.omm.de/veranstaltungen/musiktheater20082009/bilder/PARIS-krol-roger3.jpg
