Old Cardiff video of Teddy Tahu Rhodes emerges

Teddy Tahu Rhodes and his famous tattoo
In a recent post, we mentioned the paucity of Teddy Tahu Rhodes videos that are available online. We were thrilled when someone pointed us to this new posting of "Teddy Bare" singing Finzi's "It was a lover and his lass" at the 1999 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

While working as an accountant in Christchurch, New Zealand, Rhodes maintained an association with Canterbury Opera, the local repertory opera company. In 1998 he made his international debut in an acclaimed performance of Dandini in Rossini's La Cenerentola at Opera Australia, and was launched on an international career. Following his Australian debut, Rhodes represented New Zealand at the 1999 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

Rhodes is currently on tour in South Pacific

Jesse Blumberg Performs Tonight in NYC

www.longy.edu

If you're in the New York City area tonight don't miss Jesse Blumberg's recital tonight accompanied by pianist Erika Switzer. Blumberg is one of our favorite performers and he's put together a program of music by Vaughan Williams, Finzi, Britten and others.

Blumberg recently joined internationally renowned accompanist Martin Katz for performances of Schubert’s “Die Schoene Müllerin” and “Die Winterreise” in Ann Arbor. For those of you on the East Coast who missed Blumberg and Katz together, you can see them at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 12th.

Tonight's concert will be at the Bechstein Piano Centre, 207 West 58th Street in New York City from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM. Admission is $20.

Don't miss it!

You can check out sound clips of Jesse Blumberg on his website.

Jason Hardy Photos From Sexy NYCO Don Giovanni

Recently we posted some pictures from the very sexy and favorably reviewed production of Don Giovanni at New York City Opera. The cast included a veritable feast of barihunks, which included Daniel Okulitch, Kelly Markgraf and Jason Hardy. Daniel Okultich has been a regular on this site in various states of undress, and to a lesser extent so has Kelly Markgraf.

Jason Hardy is fairly new to this site and from the look of these pictures, he's been unfairly neglected. We also took the time to listen to his wonderful CD, which shows that his voice is as gorgeous as his body. We've created a handy link to Amazon if you'd like to enjoy it, as well.
