My guess is a Verdi opera. Macbeth? Attila? One thing that I'm sure of is that this MUST BE from a German opera house! Can't figure out who the barihunk is, but they should feed him.
That's indeed from a German opera house, as percivalpete guessed. It's Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride from the Komische Oper in Berlin, and the barihunk is Kevin Greenlaw. The stage director, btw, is Australian: Barrie Kosky ;-)

ReplyDeleteDoesn't La Cieca have an exclusive on the Regie game??
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that chorister with the beard is much hotter than Orestes.
So if this is Oreste what does that tattoo say "Mother"
ReplyDeleteAnonymous is correct, it's Kevin Greenlaw in Iphigenie en Tauride. Now to solve the mystery of the tattoo.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I'm short-sighted, but on the tattoo I see just a rose and two (lion) eyes... I'm pretty sure it's make-up from the production.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a rose, it's a lion....I speak from first-hand experience...
