I want to thank Anonymous for suggesting that I post Daniel Okulitch's photos of the Chatelet's production of Howard Shore's "The Fly." The production next heads to the Los Angeles Opera in September (and I'm booking a flight now!).
I noticed that La Cieca posted a little quicker than you, but you win in the photo department. I suspect there will be lots of cell phone cameras in L.A.
It's a good thing that this is going to L.A. and not NY. Otherwise, it would be call "The Garbage Strike." I hope that the L.A. critics don't get caught up in comparisons to the movie.
I like the trend of full frontal nudity in opera, as long as they look like Zachary Stains and Daniel Okulitch. Let's hope he's not hung like a fly. Stains didn't disappoint.
Thanks for posting these. I'm a BIG FAN now.
ReplyDeleteD.O. looks about 7' tall. Does anyone know how tall he actually is.
ReplyDeleteAt his size, they ought to call the opera "The Horse Fly."
I won't even ask the obvious question (that I know everyone is thinking!).

STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteStains and Okulitch were classmates at the College-Conservatory of music in Cincinnati where I knew them both.
ReplyDeleteDan's like 6'4"-5"ish. He does look good, but he sounds even better, and is one very awesome guy. This site is hilarious.

Skip isn't 6'5". I think he's more along the 6'2"-6'3" range.
