And indeed he did just that on Saturday, January 16, 2010. He received a call at about 10:00 a.m., just a few hours before curtain time for the matinee in which he would appear. Kwiecien reportedly was unable to perform due to illness.
He's scheduled as Kwiecien's alternate next season at the MET.
