HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIMON KEENLYSIDE!

THE SEEMINGLY AGELESS SIMON KEENLYSIDE
Amazingly, Simon Keenlyside is celebrating his 52nd birthday today, which should give hope to all middle-aged men. He remains as sexy as ever and continues to deliver dramatically intense performances with stunning vocalism.

He is currently singing opposite fellow barihunk Erwin Schrott in Salzburg's "Le nozze di Figaro." He then heads to the Edinburgh International Festival for a concert with pianist Malcolm Martineau. They will be performing works by Mahler, Strauss and Schubert alongside more intimate songs by Duparc and Debussy. For those who can't attend, the concert will be broadcast on August 31st as BBC Radio 3's Lunchtime Concert.

Simon Keenlyside sings Gabriel FaurĂ©'s  "En sourdine":

  1. Wow, didn't realize he was that old. He looks fantastic and his voice is as sharp as ever. I guess he was smart to follow John Cameron's advice to not force his natural vocal weight before he was fully developed. He waited until he was 28 for his opera premier and it seems that investment has paid off in keeping his voice strong through the years.

  2. My 30 year friend is ready to have his baby after seeing him in Hamlet and Don Carlo (through the Met HD series). For myself ... Hubba Hubba.

  3. Simon comes to California for two recitals: Oct 27th San Francisco (Herbst Theatre), Oct 29th Santa Monica (Broad Stage).
On their homepage they say "Movie star looks with the voice to match".
