I understand why most of the votes go to Hvorostovsky - Russian and all that...But HE IS OLD! He is old for the role (not for the part, though). Mariusz did great job in Bolshoi, but with all his charisma he still he hardly passes for an aristocrat. Which brings us to why I'd like to see Nathat in this part more then the other two brilliant singers. HA HAS IT ALL!.
Is Lensky younger in Met's production of "Eugene Onegin"?;) Lensky is 18, Onegin - 26(at the end of poem). Ramon Vargas 9lenski) is 47, Dmitri - 45. So different ages are normal for opera. Experienced people must sing these roles.
