Vittorio Prato is one of our favorite Italian barihunks, not just for his Armani model looks, but for his compelling stage presence. He's another one of those European singers who mysteriously hasn't appeared on a U.S. roster. Readers might remember our NSFW* post featuring Prato in Rameau's Les Indes Galantes" at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse.

He's wrapping up a run as the Count in Le Nozze di Figaro today at the Teatro Communale in the Sardinian city of Sassari. This was Prato's debut at the theater in a production directed by Marco Spada. The final performance was today, but we had to share the sexy shirtless pictures with our readers.

The singer now takes a different Count on the road, Count Gil in Wolf-Ferrari's Il segreto di Susanna. The opera will be performed as part of a double-bill with Poulenc's La Voix humaine at Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg on February 20th and 23rd and at the Opéra Comique in Paris from March 17-29. As an added bonus, the riveting soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci will star in both operas.

Il segreto di Susanna is a comedy that depicts the beginnings of women's liberation in the early 20th as Susanna demands the right to partake in something reserved only for men - smoking.

We recently posted about barihunk Duncan Rock being cast in "Don Giovanni: The Opera" at Heaven in London, England.

The opera opens on April 15 and has created a lot of buzz, which you can read about in our previous post. Part of the chatter was that Google Ads had declined the company's advertising because it was too provocative. The production has created lively debates about whether performances like this are good for opera, or not. The opera is not for "purists," but for those who want a fun, frolicking, sexy night of entertainment with the music of Mozart, then you may want to jump online and get tickets.

When we saw the promotional photos for the performance with Duncan Rock, we had to share them with readers. In this production, there is some role switching and the Don pursues men as well as women. One thing is certain, after seeing these pictures, Leporello's "Catalogue Aria" where he sings of his master's conquests will suddenly become quite believable.

Zachary Gordin: Sexiest Silvio; Check out the Barihunks on-the-air

Zachary Gordin, who is featured in our 2012 Barihunks charity calendar, is taking on Silvio in "Pagliacci" with the revived Sacramento Opera. We've seen a lot of Silvio's in our day, including old historical footage and we've never seen a Silvio this buff before. We can certainly understand why Nedda would want to wrap those big arms around herself. Maybe in this production, conducted by the amazing Michael Morgan, Canio dies from a choke hold by Silvio. Then again, maybe not, this is Sacramento, not Germany.

John Boehr Sings to Save the Everglades

John Boehr Loves the Water

American barihunk John Boehr is going to perform a benefit concert to save the Everglades on March 3 at the Friday Musicale in Jacksonville.

The muscular singer will perform “Pahayokee: A Plea for Life/A Song Cycle of the Everglades”by attorney/composer James T. Miller. The 40-minute piece is about the beauty of the famous National Park in Florida. The piece includes actual sounds from the Everglades, including birds, insects, frogs and alligators.
